Stage One: $550

• Approximately 8 hours of ground training
• Competency Assessment
• Perform the skydive with two Instructors
• Follow direction to fly and land your own parachute

The ground training may take place over two nights during the week in a classroom in Perth or may take place on Friday evening and Saturday at the Hillman Farm drop zone (DZ). We are flexible in this arrangement – talk to us and we will see what we can do. All training is completed at the DZ. Your competency to complete the jump is assessed through a written exam and practical demonstrations. When the instructors believe you are ready to jump, you take a ride in the Club’s plane to 10,000 feet where you get to climb out with two instructors holding onto you, and perform the skills that you have been trained to complete. Your instructors hold onto you throughout the freefall to ensure you stay stable and deploy your parachute at the correct height. After you have opened your parachute you get to fly it to the ground while being directed by your instructor.

Stage Two: $350

• Reinforcement of what you’ve learnt before
• Training in new skills for movement during freefall
• Practical Competency Assessment
• Perform the skydive with two instructors

This skydive gets you to perform the same exit procedure as your first skydive at 10,000 feet. You will demonstrate to your instructors that you are height aware and you will then perform skills that will allow you to move your body through the air. You are not just falling you are flying! Just as before you deploy your parachute and get to follow instructions to fly your parachute to the ground.

Stage Three: $350

• Reinforcement of what you’ve learnt before
• Training in new skills for maintaining a directional heading and arm and leg awareness
• Practical Competency Assessment
• Perform the skydive with two instructors

This skydive gets you to perform the same exit procedure as your previous skydives at 10,000 feet. During this stage you will concentrate on body position and arm and leg awareness. These skills assist you in maintaining your directional heading (the direction you are facing while in freefall). You will learn to use your arms and legs to keep you facing in one direction for a solo deployment. The instructors will be right there to assist but may not be holding on to you.

Stage Four: $275

• Reinforcement of what you’ve learnt before
• Consolidation of the previous jump
• Practical Competency Assessment
• Perform the skydive with only one instructor

This skydive you get to exit the plane from 10,000 feet with only one instructor. This jump is a consolidation of the previous jump to reinforce the skills you have learnt. You will be flying solo on this jump with your instructor right there with you.

Stages Five to Eight: $275

• Reinforcement of what you’ve learnt before
• Building on flying skills to teach you how to fly your body
• Practical Competency Assessment throughout all the training
• Perform the skydives with only one instructor

In these stages you get to experience different exits from the aircraft with one instructor. You will learn how to regain stability, start and stop turns and other advanced movements. Now this is flying!!

Stage Nine: $150

• Practical Competency Assessment
• Exit the aircraft from a lower altitude
• Deploy your parachute soon after exit

This skydive is there to get you used to exiting the aircraft from a lower height and deploying your parachute straight away.

Note: To obtain your first licence in skydiving you need to prove your competency in all nine stages of the course and meeting packing and accuracy requirements.
